The attention toward the body, the fascination with material, and the mixture of different languages are evident in the famous series titled Fotopoemação. Upon this boundary Aos Poucos (Little by Little), série Fotopoemação (from the series Photopoemaction) bears witness to the vision of Maiolino for the political actions against the oppression of the Brazilian military regime, in which he often used his own physicality. Here, too, the artist’s face and the use of her body are proof of a presence in spite of the censorship and the restrictions on her voice, gaze, action, and work.
