Description
Esther Kläs deals with sculpture, painting, and engraving, often making the three disciplines converse in her installations. The body is the subject and protagonist, encouraging a reflection on one’s physical nature, as well as on the themes of movement and stasis. With visual and ideological connections to Minimalim and Post-Minimalism, the artist developed a distinctive language that harkens back to the great twentieth-century sculptural traditions, while at the same time challenging the contemporary sculptural norms.
