Maurizio Mochetti Cilindro - Due dischi di luce

Description
Since the beginning, Mochetti’s aim has been to appropriate exhibition space by creating installations that can adapt to their host space, changing the way it is perceived. The rigor and “object” character of his installations are aggravated through the use of industrial materials, like the new plastics, and the representation of simple geometric elements. At the end of the 1960s, he began to explore the possibilities of using light to construct immaterial spaces and volumes, and the definitive form of his works was often only determined in the space where they were installed, without being identifiable in a precise image. The perfectibility of the work is at the base of all of his artistic production, being always susceptible to further and later modification when scientific advancement allows it. Through this approach, the artist has aimed to become what Germano Celant described as a “technician of vision”.
