Description
The video-installation with six screens reflects the artist’s practice, in which he uses subliminal messages and actions aimed at exploring political ideologies and the symbols of dissent. It is an exploration of a tension that is intrinsic to public action, presented via the relentless preparation that precedes every action. In Preparation No.1, one figure, visible in all six videos, maniacally prepares for an imminent action. He makes banners and flags, assembles chains, chops bricks into little pieces, creates megaphones ready for use… With a nod to the aesthetic of the classic Hollywood action movies, where the hero prepares for the final showdown, the installation illustrates a preparation that never ends.
