Description
Rosemarie Trockel trained from 1974 to 1978 at the Werkkunstschule in Cologne, after studying sociology and mathematics. The diversity of her interests, as well as her numerous fields of action (graphics, sculpture, painting, installation, video), is reflected in her work, marked by considerable complexity of interpretations and cultural and artistic references. As in other contemporary works, made in different colors, in "Untitled" (2000), the use of electric hotplates suggests not only the reference to women’s themes, but a more general idea of danger. This suggestion appears more concretely in other works of the series, in which electric wire recalls the presence in an electric current, evoking the sense of danger of the heating component.
