With collections encompassing some 20,000 paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations, the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea is a lapis representation of Italian artistic culture from the 1800s to the present day.
The current layout – conceived as a discourse on the concept of time – goes beyond the usual chronological arrangement and branches out in simultaneous pathways where works are grouped on the basis of theme, contrast, analogy and direct citation.
The works of contemporary Italian and international artists let us broaden our horizons to different or unexpected ideas and stimuli.
