The Centro Pecci is designed to promote participation and comprehension of contemporary socio-cultural dynamics, through its exhibiting and educational activities, as well as events and projects of documentation and research.
The Centro Pecci collection includes more than 1,000 works by over 300 artists, largely sculpture, installations and environments, paintings and video works, produced between the 1950s and the present day, and largely acquired in the wake of exhibitions and artists’ projects promoted by the Centre. Other collection sets are dedicated to Radical Architecture, arts cinema in Tuscany from 1964 to 1980, and to artists’ books. There are also special sets featuring the works of the visual poet Luciano Ori, of the Florentine artist Mario Mariotti, of the architect Leonardo Savioli and his wife, the artist Flora Wiechmann.
